11th Kinoteka Polish Film Festival

The eleventh edition of the Kinoteka Polish Film Festival in London will run from March 7 through March 17, 2013. The event is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Films Supported by the Polish Film Institute Featured in Festival Lineup

The opening film of the eleventh edition of the festival is Ziemia obiecana (The Promised Land) by Andrzej Wajda. The festival lineup features several Polish films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The New Polish Cinema section will feature such films as Bejbi Blues (Baby Blues) by Katarzyna Rosłaniec, Fuck For Forest by Michał Marczak, Imagine by Andrzej Jakimowski, Róża (Rosa) by Wojciech Smarzowski, Obława (Manhunt) by Marcin Krzyształowicz, Bez wstydu (Shameless) by Filip Marczewski, Supermarket by Maciej Żak, and Dzień kobiet (Women’s Day) by Maria Sadowska.

Wojciech Bruszewski Retrospective at Tate Modern

One of the elements of the festival will also be a retrospective of films by Wojciech Bruszewski, artist and pioneer of video art in Poland, at London’s Tate Gallery. Detailed information about screenings is available on the gallery website.

Exhibition of Posters by Tomasz Opasiński

Film screenings will be accompanied by an exhibition of posters by Tomasz Opasiński, Polish artist and designer who created over 400 film posters. Examples of his work include Prometheus, Paris je t’aime and The Bourne Ultimatum.
