13th Polish Film Week in Vilnius

The 13th annual Polish Film Week will run from September 6 through September 12, 2013 in Vilnius. The event has been co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Films Supported by the Polish Film Institute Featured in Lineup

The lineup of this year’s edition of the Polish Film Week features a number of latest Polish features that have been co-financed by the Polish Film Institute: Drogówka (Traffic Department) by Wojciech Smarzowski, Imagine by Andrzej Jakimowski, Yuma by Piotr Mularuk, Ostatnie piętro (The Last Floor) by Tadeusz Król, Dzień kobiet (Women’s Day) by Maria Sadowska, Syberiada polska (Siberian Exile) by Janusz Zaorski, Być jak Kazimierz Deyna (Being Like Deyna) by Anna Wieczur-Bluszcz, Obława (Manhunt) by Marcin Krzyształowicz, Felix, Net i Nika oraz Teoretycznie Możliwa Katastrofa (Felix, Net and Nika and the Theoretically Possible Catastrophe) by Wiktor Skrzynecki, and Zabić bobra (To Kill a Beaver) by Jan Jakub Kolski.

The Polish Film School in Digital

Festival audiences will also have an opportunity to see a number of Polish productions from the Polish Film School that have been digitally reconstructed within the framework of the KinoRP project, also supported by the Polish Film Institute. Films scheduled to screen in Vilnius include Eroica by Andrzej Munk, Popiół i diament (Ashes and Diamonds) by Andrzej Wajda, Matka Joanna od Aniołów (Mother Joan of the Angels) by Jerzy Kawalerowicz, and Ostatni dzień lata (The Last Day of Summer) by Tadeusz Konwicki.

Świteź (The Lost Town of Świteź) as Opening Film

A special guest at this year’s event will be Kamil Polak, director of the animated film Świteź (The Lost Town of Świteź), co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. A screening of Świteź will open the 13th edition of the Polish Film Week.

The Polish Film Week has been organized by the Polish Institute in Vilnius and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. Polish films will screen in three cinemas around Vilnius: Skalvija, Pasaka and Multikino. Ticket prices have been set at 8 litas.
