19th Polish Film Spring in Budapest

The 19th annual Polish Film Spring in Budapest will run from May 7 through May 14, 2013. The event is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Feature Films

The festival lineup features several new Polish productions co-financed by the Polish Film Institute: Obława (Manhunt) by Marcin Krzyształowicz, Piąta pora roku (The Fifth Season of the Year) by Jerzy Domaradzki, Imagine by Andrzej Jakimowski, Mój rower (My Father’s Bike) by Piotr Trzaskalski, Dzień kobiet (Women’s Day) by Maria Sadowska, Być jak Kazimierz Deyna (Being Like Deyna) by Anna Wieczur-Bluszcz, Zabić bobra (To Kill a Beaver) by Jan Jakub Kolski and Heniek by Eliza Kowalewska and Grzegorz Madej.

Short Films

Polish Film Spring audiences will also have an opportunity to see several short films: Ciemnego pokoju nie trzeba się bać (Don’t Be Afraid of a Dark Room) by Kuba Czekaj, Chomik (The Hamster) by Bartłomiej Ignaciuk, Koleżanki (Amigos Forever) by Sylwester Jakimow, and Co mówią lekarze (What the Doctors Say) by Michał Wnuk, along with two Hungarian films: On a Lower Level, directed by Gábor Reisz and 180/100, directed by Nándor Lőrincz and Bálint Nagy.

Festival Supported by the Polish Film Institute

All screenings will take place at the Művész cinema. There are Q&A sessions scheduled with several Polish filmmakers, including Marian Dziędziel, Anna Wieczur-Bluszcz, and Przemysław Bluszcz. The Polish Film Spring is organized by the Polish Institute in Budapest and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
