370,000 EUR for Polish Cinemas

At the most recent session of the Europa Cinemas expert committee, Polish cinemas received funding in the total amount of 370,000 euros.

Polish cinemas received very high marks from the experts in terms of programming and promoting European films, box-office results (despite the competition of mass sports events: the London Olympics and Euro 2012), the diversity of their repertoire, educational activity for children and young adults, and digitization.

According to the expert committee, the best Polish cinemas in the Europa Cinemas network are: Muranów (Warsaw), Kinoteka (Warsaw), Pod Baranami (Krakow), Gdańskie Centrum Filmowe (Gdańsk) and Sokół (Nowy Sącz).

Launched in 1992, the Europa Cinemas network is supported by the European Union MEDIA programme. The mission of Europa Cinemas is to promote European films and increase their on-screen presence in cinemas across the continent.
