3RD BAP CINE POLISH FILM FESTIVAL

The third edition of the BAP CINE Polish Film Festival in Buenos Aires will take place between October 1 and October 7, 2015. The event is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Bogowie (Gods) as Opening Film

The festival will open with a special screening of Łukasz Palkowski’s Bogowie (Gods) on October 1 at the Gaumont cinema, the festival’s main venue. The festival features two screenings per day, presenting documentary films produced by the Wajda School, the Festival’s Polish partner, and some of the latest feature films from Poland.

New Polish Films

Audiences in Buenos Aires will also have an opportunity to enjoy Miasto 44 (Warsaw 44) by Jan Komasa, Body/Ciało (Body) by Małgorzata Szumowska, Carte Blanche by Jacek Lusiński, Serce, serduszko (The Heart and the Sweetheart) by Jan Jakub Kolski, Sąsiady (Neighborhooders) by Grzegorz Królikiewicz, and Małe stłuczki (Little Crushes) by Aleksandra Gowin and Ireneusz Grzyb. The documentary film section will also feature Mleczny brat (Milky Brother) by Vahram Mkhitaryan, Superjednostka (Super Unit) by Teresa Czepiec, and Koniec świata (The End of the World) by Monika Pawluczuk. Documentary filmmaker, screenwriter and cinematographer Marcin Sauter will be a special guest at the festival, presenting his film Na północ od Kalabrii (North of Calabria).

Jury

Feature films screening at the festival will be judged by jury members Guillermo Lemos (actor), Josefina Delgado (Chief of Staff of the Minister of Culture), Alejandro Sanmaritano (Cine Club Núcleo programmer). The jury will select the best film of the festival, and its creators will receive the Transatlantico Award, designed by sculptor Natalia Pzellinsky.

The BAP CINE festival is part of the Polish-Argenitinian Culture Days organized by ACAP (Asociación Cultural Argentino Polaca). Through lectures and workshops, the festival also cooperates with local universities, including IUNA (Instituto Universitario Nacional Audiovisual) and CIC (Centro de Investigación Cinematográfica).

The BAP CINE Polish Film Festival is organized by the Pro America Foundation, in cooperation with ACAP (Asociación Cultural Argentino Polaca) and Argentina’s National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA). The event is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and the Polish Embassy in Buenos Aires.
