6th Kinopolska Festival in Paris

The sixth edition of the Kinopolska festival in Paris will run from November 19 through November 24, 2013.

Films Supported by the Polish Film Institute Screening in Competition

This year’s festival competition features the following Polish films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute: Ida by Paweł Pawlikowski, Papusza by Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze, Bejbi blues (Baby Blues) by Katarzyna Rosłaniec, Miłość (Loving) by Sławomir Fabicki, Yuma by Piotr Mularuk, and Jesteś Bogiem (You’re a God) by Leszek Dawid.

Guest of Honour: Roman Polański

Roman Polański will be the guest of honour of the sixth Kinopolska festival. The festival lineup will feature a total of six films by this Polish director: Nóż w wodzie (Knife in the Water; 1962); Cul-de-Sac (1966); The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967); Chinatown (1974); The Tenant (1976), and The Pianist (2002). The festival lineup also features six Polish films hand-picked by Roman Polański: Ulica Graniczna (Border Street; 1948) by Aleksander Ford; Pokolenie (Generation; 1954) and Popiół i diament (Ashes and Diamonds; 1958) by Andrzej Wajda; Pamiętnik znaleziony w Saragossie (The Saragossa Manuscript; 1965) by Wojciech Jerzy Has, as well as Cień (Shadow; 1956) and Pociąg (Baltic Express; 1959) by Jerzy Kawalerowicz.

Short Films

Audiences of the 6th Kinopolska film festival will also have an opportunity to see some of the latest Polish short films, including Mazurek (The Easter Crumble) by Julia Kolberger, Obóz (Camp) by Tomasz Jeziorski, Matka (The Mother) by Łukasz Ostalski, and Ludzie normalni (Normal People) by Piotr Złotorowicz.

 

The festival has been organized by the Polish Institute in Paris.
