Logo Use

Guidelines for using the official logo of the Polish Film Institute.

The logo, full name (Polish: Polski Instytut Sztuki Filmowej; English: Polish Film Institute) and abbreviated name (Polish: PISF; English: PFI) are protected trademarks; their use always requires explicit consent of the Polish Film Institute. Requests for permission to use the logo (static or animated), full name or abbreviated name of the Polish Film Institute should be sent (along with a brief explanatory statement) to the Film Culture Promulgation and Promotion Department (Dział Upowszechniania Kultury Filmowej i Promocji) of the Polish Film Institute:

 phone: + 48 22 42 10 156, email: logo@pisf.pl

Guidelines for including the logo of the Polish Film Institute in promotional publications

The actual size of the Polish Film Institute logo should be comparable with surrounding logos. The letters of the inscription "Polski Instytut Sztuki Filmowej" and/or "Polish Film Institute" that forms an integral part of the logo cannot be smaller than an 8pt font (i.e. 2.8 mm in height). The logo protected area is 1 mm around the rectangle formed around its external edges, considering that the lettering "Polski Instytut Sztuki Filmowej" and/or "Polish Film Institute" is an integral part of the logo.

The logo of the Polish Film Institute with the term 'A Decade of Emotions' in the subtitle should be included in the promo materials of all events co-financed by the Polish Film Institute scheduled to take place between September 2014 and September 2015.

Guidelines for including information regarding the involvement of the Polish Film Institute in co-financing a project in the film’s opening and end titles

1. The Polish Film Institute reserves the right to place its animated logo sequence (9 seconds) before the film’s opening titles.

2. If producers are named in the opening titles, information about the participation of the Polish Film Institute should be placed as either "Polish Film Institute" or "A Polish Film Institute Co-financed Production" (Polish version: “Polski Instytut Sztuki Filmowej” and “Film współfinansowany przez Polski Instytut Sztuki Filmowej” respectively).

3. Information about the participation of the Polish Film Institute in a given film project should be included in the end titles after all other producers are named. This statement should look as follows:

"A Polish Film Institute Co-financed Production"

4. The logo of the Polish Film Institute should be placed at the bottom of the end credits, alongside other producers’ logos.

5. The logo of the Polish Film Institute must be placed in its bilingual version, i.e. with the name of the Polish Film Institute written in both Polish and English.

6. Names of the experts of the Polish Film Institute, in alphabetical order, who recommended that the film be co-financed by the Institute should be included in the end credits and followed by the name of General Director of the Polish Film Institute, Magdalena Sroka.

This information should be worded as follows:

"Experts of the Polish Film Institute who recommended co-financing of the film:

(...)

General Director of the Polish Film Institute - Magdalena Sroka"

7. Regarding film projects that received a loan from the Polish Film Institute to help with financing, information about the Polish Film Institute should only appear in the end credits and be worded as follows:

"This production was partly financed by a loan from the Polish Film Institute."

Neither the animated logo nor the static logo of the Polish Film Institute should be included.

8. The Polish Film Institute cannot appear in a film’s copyright note.

9. The film’s score credits as submitted to collective rights management organizations (in Poland: Stowarzyszenie Autorów ZAiKS) should include the following information regarding sound in the animated logo sequence heading of the Polish Film Institute:

composer: Janusz Grzywacz

title: "Polish Film Institute Jingle" (Polish: "Jingiel PISF")
time: 7 seconds

10. The Polish Film Institute reserves the right to approve the final layout of the opening and end titles in all areas pertaining to the Polish Film Institute.

To receive credit layout approval of the Polish Film Institute, the producer is requested to send the opening and end titles to the Polish Film Institute by email: logo@pisf.pl or fax: +48 22 42 10 162. For additional information please call + 48 22 42 10 156.

The Polish Film Institute grants approval in the part concerning the Institute within five working days of submitting opening/end titles by the producer via email or fax.
