Agnieszka Holland Exhibition Opening

March 14, 2013 brought the opening of the “Poland. Europe. The World: the Faces of Agnieszka Holland” exhibition at the 20th FebioFest International Film Festival in Prague. The exhibition was organized by the Museum of Cinematography in Łódź and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Prague Exhibition Opening

The exhibition opening, held at the CineStar Praha – Anděl festival venue, was attended by Agnieszka Holland, FebioFest festival director Fero Fenic, director of the Polish Institute in Prague Piotr Drobniak, and by representatives of the Museum of Cinematography in Łódź. The exhibition launch attracted a lot of interest from the media and the public. Guests included many friends and acquaintances of the director from FAMU, including Andrzej Koszyk and Andrzej Zajączkowski.

Polish Director’s Ties with the Czech Republic

“I am very glad that this exhibition opens during the 20th edition of FebioFest. It is an honour for us to have this exhibition on display,” said Fero Fenic. He also noted that Agnieszka Holland has firm ties with the city of Prague – this was where she studied, and it was here that she filmed Burning Bush. He also emphasized that this is the second exhibition organized by the Museum of Cinematography in Łódź to be on display at FebioFest. Two years ago, FebioFest housed an exhibition dedicated to Roman Polański.

Documentary on Agnieszka Holland

“I am glad that this exhibition will travel the world, and I am happy to see many friends at this event,” said director Agnieszka Holland at the exhibition opening. The event was filmed by the crew of Powroty Agnieszki H, a documentary film about the Prague period in the life of Agnieszka Holland made by Krystyna Krauze and Jacek Petrycki.

Exhibition Supported by the Polish Film Institute

The exhibition is held under the honorary patronage of Bogdan Zdrojewski, Poland’s Minister of Culture and National Heritage, and has been co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
