Andrzej Chyra Awarded in France

At the 15th Cinessonne European Cinema Festival, which closed on November 24, Andrzej Chyra received the award for Best Actor for his performance in W imię… (In the Name Of…), a film directed by Małgorzata Szumowska and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Polish Actor Awarded at International Film Festival

Members of the jury of the European Competition at Cinessonne included Marion Hänsel (head of the jury), Noémie Luciani,Thierry Frémont, Alain Martin, and Stéphane Riethauser. The jury watched a total of ten competition films. The top prize of the European Competition went to Suzanne, a French production directed by Katell Quillévéré. This film also received the Best Actress award for its two female co-stars, Sara Forestier and Adèle Haenel. The winner of the Best Actor award was Andrzej Chyra, recognized for his performance in W imię… (In the Name Of…) by Małgorzata Szumowska. The jury also presented a Special Jury Prize to two films: The Selfish Giant by Clio Barnard and Paradjanov by Serge Avédikian and Olena Fetisova.
