Another Award for "Ida"

Ryszard Lenczewski and Łukasz Żal Received the award for Best Cinematography for their work on Paweł Pawlikowski’s Ida at the Mediaș Central European festival in Romania.

Lenczewski and Żal, DPs on Paweł Pawlikowski’s Ida, received the award for “its […] black and white photography; for its powerful mise-en-scene that helps to delineate a young woman’s tragic family story and struggle to find a sense of belonging and purpose in an unforgiving world.”

Burning Bush Voted Best Film of the Festival

The festival winner was Burning Bush, a three-part miniseries directed by Agnieszka Holland and produced by the Czech branch of HBO.

2014 MECEFF

The Mediaș festival is the only film event in Romania that focuses on showcasing films produced in Central and Eastern Europe. One of the films recognized at last year’s edition of the festival was W ciemności (In Darkness), for which Agnieszka Holland received the Mediaș Award for Best Director.
