Award for The Magic Tree

Andrzej Maleszka’s Magiczne drzewo (The Magic Tree) received the Grand Prix and Audience Award at the Taiwan International Children’s Film Festival, held in Taipei from April 1 to 11.

The Taiwan International Children’s Film Festival was first organized in 2004.

This year’s edition screens over 130 films from 30 countries. All films screened at the festival are for audiences aged 12 and under. The Taiwan International Children’s Film Festival has two sections: Competition and Panorama. The event will also be home to a children’s book market, as well as various workshops, exhibitions, and multimedia installation art projects.

The Taiwan International Children’s Film Festival is organized by PTS, Taiwan’s only public public television station.

Further details about the festival are available at www.ticff.org.tw.

Taipei adds to the long list of awards for The Magic Tree, which previously won awards in Chicago, Oulu (Finland), Havana, and, most recently, New York.
