Call for Ex Oriente Film and East Silver Market has started
Documentalists can apply to the Ex Oriente Film 2020 training program by April 30. Those interested in the East Silver Market, accompanying the Documentary Film Festival in Jihlava, have more time to submit their films.
Submitting applications for calls for both events is free and possible via online forms.
Ex Oriente Film 2020
Ex Oriente Film 2020 workshops support the development and financing of creative productions from Central and Eastern Europe. They last nine months and consist of three stationary sessions. During the session, two director-producer teams develop the project and develop its financial strategy under the guidance of leading experts from Europe and the United States. Each session focuses on a different development segment.
Every year, twelve projects are accepted to participate in the training. The invited teams, with the help of 30 leading directors, producers and experts from the audiovisual industry, develop their films, their subject, narrative and visual style, create a production, distribution and financing plan and learn how to find international partners. The training ends with a pitching session during the East Doc Forum in the Czech Republic.

East Silver Market 2020
East Silver is a film market specializing in documentary productions from Central and Eastern Europe. Each year, about 280 films from nearly 30 countries are presented. The organizers offer selected films a place on the online streaming platform, from which they are made available to professionals from the film industry from around the world. Some of the titles participating in the East Silver Market are also promoted at international festivals thanks to the East Silver Caravan program.
East Silver Market is addressed to documentary films which producer or co-producer is one of the Central or Eastern European countries. Documents produced this year should be sent by May 31, and projects under realization by July 31.
