Polish presence at the 68th Berlinale
February 15 sees the opening of the 68th International Film Festival in Berlin. The programme will include films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute as well as events related to Polish cinema.
Polish films at 40th Clermont-Ferrand IFF
The competition lineup of the 40th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival was announced on December 12. The lineup features several Polish films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
"Loving Vincent" in Czech Republic and Slovakian cinemas
Twój Vincent (Loving Vincent), a film directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, was released theatrically in Slovakia and in Czech Republic on January 25, 2018.

Nominations for the 90th Academy Awards were announced on January 23. Twój Vincent (Loving Vincent), a film directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received a nomination for Best Animated Film.
"The Last Family" in Cinemas in France
Ostatnia Rodzina (The Last Family), a film by Jan P. Matuszyński co-financed by the Polish Film Institute was released theatrically in France on January 17.

Three Polish short films and co-production Litość (Pity) have been selected to screen in competition at the Sundance film festival, which runs from January 18 through January 28, 2018.

On January 4 Pokot (Spoor) by Agnieszka Holland co-financed by the Polish Film Institute was released theatrically in Germany.
"Loving Vincent" Nominated for BAFTA
Twój Vincent (Loving Vincent) by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman co-financed by the Polish Film Institute was nominated for the prestigious BAFTA award in Animated Film category.

The first titles in the lineup of the Main Competition at the upcoming 68th Berlin International Film Festival were announced on December 18. Among them is the world premiere of Twarz (Mug), the latest film by Małgorzata Szumowska. The film was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

On December 9 in Berlin the 2017 European Film Awards ceremony was held. Komunia (Communion) by Anna Zamecka and Twój Vincent (Loving Vincent) by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute received awards. The Award for European Costume Designer went to Katarzyna Lewińska.
