"ESCAPE FROM THE 'LIBERTY' CINEMA" DVD RELEASE IN THE UK

Wojciech Marczewski’s Ucieczka z kina ‘Wolność‘ (Escape from the ‘Liberty‘ Cinema) will be released on DVD in the UK by Second Run next January. The film was previously available on DVD as part of the Polish Cinema Classics Vol. II collection, released in 2013.

Wojciech Marczewski’s Ucieczka z kina ‘Wolność‘ (Escape from the ‘Liberty‘ Cinema) was the talk of the town at the 1990 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, winning the Grand Prize and the Journalists’ Prize, with special mention for best actor going to Janusz Gajos. The film as also received acclaim internationally, including at the Fantastic Film Festival in Avoriaz. Other award winners at this festival include Brian de Palma’s Carrie, Steven Spielberg’s Duel, and James Cameron’s Terminator. (source: filmpolski.pl)
