Cinema City is the largest network of multiplex cinemas in Central and Eastern Europe. The company develops this network under two trademarks – Cinema City and IMAX®, in Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Israel and Romania. Cinema City manages 508 screening rooms in 61 multiplex cinemas. Throughout Europe, the network owns 61 multiplexes with a total of 566 screening rooms. In addition, the company runs eight 3D IMAX® cinemas. In 2008, a further 46 multiplex cinemas were under construction, with a total of 480 screens. In Poland, Cinema City operates 25 cinemas with a total of 278 screens. Eight new cinemas are under construction. Cinema City multiplexes are located in Poland’s largest cities – Warsaw (6 cinemas), Krakow (3 cinemas), Poznań (2 cinemas), Gdańsk, Katowice, Bydgoszcz, Toruń, Łódź, Wrocław and many more. New cinemas will be opened in Płock, Wałbrzych, Rzeszów, Bielsko-Biała, Częstochowa, Bytom, Gdańsk and Krakow. Cinema City recently acquired the Kinepolis cinema in Poznań, the largest multiplex in Europe in terms of area (56,000 sq. m). Kinepolis has 18 screening rooms with a total of 7,500 seats. Of all the markets in which Cinema City operates, Poland is the largest and most profitable. In 2008 alone, Cinema City noted a total of 12.5 admissions in Poland. Aside from box-office receipts, the company generates profit from film distribution (Disney pictures), advertising and real estate.
