The Helios Film Centre is a network of cinemas established in 1993 based on the cinemas located in Łódź. In 2006 the company managed 13 cinemas (a total of 50 screening rooms, with 13,500 seats, in 11 cities in Poland). In 2007 Helios acquired 100% shares in another cinema company, the Warsaw-based Kinoplex. As a result of this merger, Helios now holds over 20% of the multiplex market and is one of the top three cinema chains in Poland. Currently the company manages 25 cinemas, with a total of 97 screens and over 22,000 seats in many cities throughout Poland, including Gniezno, Kalisz, Katowice, Konin, Łódź, Olsztyn, Piotrków Trybunalski, Radom, Rzeszów, Sosnowiec, Szczecin and Włocławek. Plans for development up to 2010 include the development of new projects in Legnica, Płock and other cities. Helios co-operates closely with the largest distribution companies, e.g. UIP, ITI, Warner Bros, SPI, Imperial CinePix and Forum Film.
