Filmland Polen Starts Again

March 27 marked the launch of the 9th Filmland Polen New Polish Film Festival. The project is aimed at presenting latest Polish features to German audiences. Films are screened from March to December in several German cities, including Hamburg, Bremen, and Hanover.

To commemorate the Year of Czesław Miłosz, this year’s opening film was the film adaptation of his novel “Dolina Issy”, directed by Tadeusz Konwicki. Other films in the Filmland Polen lineup include Różyczka (Little Rose) by Jan Kidawa-Błoński, Wenecja (Venice) by Jan Jakub Kolski, Made in Poland by Przemysław Wojcieszek, and Erratum by Marek Lechki. A short film from the programme of the 3rd “Crossing Borders” International Short Film Competition will be shown before each screening.
