In Walbrzych, a major town of a former coalfield, everyone talks about coal. The opinions of the authorities, and those of the folks who work with coal, are poles apart. The film uses footage shot by the amateur filmmaker Romek, whom his camera has helped recover his dignity. For years, besides working working in illegal coal pits, he`d take odd jobs shooting wedding ceremonies or baptisms. Since the moment, however, when he shot his first footage from a people`s demonstration, he has started using his camera in a different way. He`s also started to look at the world around him differently. He has started to collect footage describing the world of illegal coal pits. The world of his own and that of his friends.
