"Fuck For Forest" Receives Special Mention

Michał Marczak’s documentary Fuck For Forest received special mention in the Sheffield Green Award competition at the 19th Sheffield Doc/Fest International Documentary Film Festival, which closed on June 16. The film had been co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Special Mention for Fuck For Forest

This year’s Sheffield Doc/Fest featured a lineup of 77 feature documentaries, 33 shorts and 11 interactive documentaries, selected among a total of 2,000 submissions. Fuck For Forest screened in Sheffield’s section for films on environmental challenges. Seven films competed for The Sheffield Green Award. The award went to the documentary Pandora’s Promise, directed by Robert Stone. Jury members Louisa Bolch, Charlotte Cook, Michael Christoffersen, Mic Wright, and Rajendra Roy, gave Special Mention to Fuck For Forest, directed by Michał Marczak.

Film Supported by the Polish Film Institute

Fuck For Forest, a film co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received the award for Best Documentary Film at the 28th Warsaw Film Festival and was nominated for the Polish Film Awards (Eagle Award). The film has screened at a number of international film festivals to date, including Rotterdam, Helsinki, and Austin. Fuck For Forest was also one of the projects at the first edition of Docs to go!, a presentation of Polish documentary films in post-production, organized as a joint initiative of the Polish Film Institute and the Krakow Film Festival. Fuck For Forest was released theatrically in Poland on November 23, 2012. The film’s Polish distributor is Against Gravity, while world sales are handled by Dogwoof.
