"Ida" Awarded in Gijón

Ida, a film directed by Paweł Pawlikowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received a total of five awards at the 51st Gijón International Film Festival (Spain), which closed on November 24.

This year’s Main Competition was judged by jury members Patrice Leconte (chairman of the jury), Aida Folch, Iván Trujillo, Ray Loriga, and Pablo Giorgelli. The jury recognized Ida with the following awards:

• Best Film of the 51st Gijón IFF (Premio Principado de Asturias);
• Award for Best Screenplay (Paweł Pawlikowski, Rebecca Lenkiewicz);
• Award for Best Actress (Agata Kulesza);
• Gil Parrondo Prize – Award for Best Production Design (Katarzyna Sobańska, Marcel Sławiński).

Ida also received the Award for Best Feature Film from the festival’s youth jury.
