Immigrants pitched at prestigious Halifax Coproduction Market

Immigrants is a feature film project by Dariusz Jabłoński and Krzysztof Łukaszewicz, inspired by the events of October 2007, when a Polish immigrant, after waiting 10 hours at airport border control, was stunned with a Taser gun by the police and subsequently died.

The project took part in the prestigious Strategic Partners international coproduction market that was held on September 17-21 in Halifax, Canada.

This film event is attended annually by TV network representatives, investors and distributors from around the world. They meet with film producers who present their latest projects.

Immigrants was one of 15 European film projects selected for presentation. This project had previously been presented at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Immigrants has received a development grant from the Polish Film Institute. This project has already caught the interest of producers from Canada and Germany.
