“Ixjana” at Rome Film Festival

Ixjana z piekła rodem (Ixjana) by Józef Skolimowski and Michał Skolimowski will screen in Main Competition at the seventh edition of the Rome International Film Festival, which runs from November 9 through November 17, 2012. The film was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

The story focuses on Marek, a writer. His long-term friendship with Artur is suddenly broken when a mysterious woman appears in their lives. Unaware of being manipulated, Marek tries to solve the mystery of a certain night, when his best friend disappeared under strange circumstances. Subconsciously, Marek suspects himself of having killed his friend. Embarking on a private investigation, Marek is constantly torn apart by conflicting emotions. He doesn’t suspect that he has fallen victim to an intricate intrigue; its unexpected outcome will surprise even the most predicting viewers.

Ixjana z piekła rodem (Ixjana) was produced by Film Media SA, and co-produced by Studio Produkcyjne Orka, Studio Filmowe Kadr, Opus Film, Studio Filmowe Perspektywa, Skopia Film, and Narodowe Centrum Kultury. The screenplay was written by Józef Skolimowski and Michał Skolimowski. The film was lensed by Adam Sikora. The lead parts are played by Sambor Czarnota, Magdalena Boczarska, Borys Szyc, and Anna Dereszowska. Ixjana was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute

Seventh Edition of the Rome International Film Festival

The seventh edition of the Rome International Film Festival runs from November 9 through November 17, 2012. The international jury judging the competition sections will be led this year by American director and screenwriter Jeff Nichols. Films in Main Competition will compete for the Marc’ Aurelio Award for Best Picture. As of March 2012, the Rome International Film Festival’s new artistic director is Marco Müller, former artistic director of the Venice IFF.
