KINOTEKA 2015: POLISH FILMS IN STOCKHOLM

This year’s edition of the Kinoteka Polish Film Festival in Stockholm will run from October 14 through November 8.

Festival Lineup

Stockholm audiences will have an opportunity to see Papusza by Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze, Obietnica (The Word) by Anna Kazejak, Pani z przedszkola (All About My Parents) by Marcin Krzyształowicz, Małe stłuczki (Little Crushes) by Aleksandra Grzyb and Ireneusz Gowin, Miasto 44 (Warsaw 44) and Powstanie Warszawskie (Warsaw Uprising) by Jan Komasa, Hiszpanka (Influenza) by Łukasz Barczyk, Kebab i Horoskop (Kebab & Horoscope) by Grzegorz Jaroszuk, Bogowie (Gods) by Łukasz Palkowski, and Między nami dobrze jest (No Matter How Hard We Tried) by Grzegorz Jarzyna. All screenings will be subtitled in English, with the exception of Papusza, which will be subtitled in Swedish.

Polish Animations in Stockholm

The Kinoteka lineup will also feature a screening of Polish animated films, organized in cooperation with the Etiuda&Anima film festival. The first part will include a collection of films by the masters of Polish animation: Witold Giersz, Daniel Szczechura, Jan Lenica, Walerian Borowczyk, and Ryszard Czekała. The second part will feature screenings of Signum by Witold Giersz, Hipopotamy by Piotr Dumała, and Nieprawdopodobnie elastyczny człowiek (An Incredibly Elastic Man) by Karolina Specht.

About the Festival

The first edition of Kinoteka Stockholm was held in 2009. The Stockholm festival is the Swedish edition of the UK’s Kinoteka festival, coordinated by the Polish Cultural Institute in London. The Stockholm edition is organized by the Polish Institute in Stockholm. Within the framework of Kinoteka on Tour, Polish films will also be screened in other Swedish cities.
