Polish director Krzysztof Zanussi received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 43rd International Film Festival of India in Goa.

 

Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award at the International Film Festival of India goes out to acclaimed filmmakers for exceptional contribution to world cinema. The awards ceremony was attended by Bogdan Zdrojewski, Poland’s Minister of Culture and National Heritage. The festival’s World Cinema section features one of Zanussi’s films: Iluminacja (Illumination), produced in 1972.

International Film Festival of India

The International Film Festival of India is one of the top film events in Asia. The festival is focused on showcasing the film trends in world cinema. At the 41st edition of the festival, Magdalena Boczarska received the Best Actress award for her performance in Różyczka (Little Rose) by Jan Kidawa-Błoński, a film co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The festival’s 43rd edition runs through November 30, 2012.
