"Loving" Wins in Spain

Miłość (Loving), a film directed by Sławomir Fabicki and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, has won the 28th Cinema Jove International Film Festival in Spain.

Sławomir Fabicki’s Miłość (Loving) has won the Feature Film Competition at the 28th Cinema Jove International Film Festival, which closed on June 28, 2013 in Valencia. Sławomir Fabicki received the Luna de Valencia Award.

Miłość (Loving)

Miłość (Loving) is the story of the complicated relationship of a married couple of thirty-year-olds who appear to have everything they need to be happy. Maria has a successful career, Tomek is also satisfied with his job. They are decorating their new home and expecting a baby. It feels like nothing could shake their relationship. But Maria’s secret is a traumatic experience that not only changes her, but also impacts the relationship with her husband. The love between these two people is put to a long and straining test.

A Film Supported by the Polish Film Institute

The film was produced by Odeon Rybarczyk Productions and co-produced by Anagram Film. The script was written by Sławomir Fabicki and Marek Pruchniewski, while the picture was lensed by Piotr Szczepański. The leading roles were played by Julia Kijowska and Marcin Dorociński, with supporting performances by Adam Woronowicz, Agata Kulesza, Dorota Kolak, and Marian Dziędziel. Milość (Loving) was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The film was released theatrically in Poland on March 15, 2013, with distribution handled by Forum Film Poland.

Awards at International Film Festivals

Miłość (Loving) has to date received several awards at international film festivals. These include the top prize in the Main Competition of the 14th Festival of European Cinema in Lecce, the award for Best Film at the 18th ‘Kino Pavasaris’ International Film Festival in Vilnius, and the Golden Prometheus Award, the top award of the Tbilisi Film Festival. For her performance as Maria, Julia Kijowska received the Best Actress Award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival.
