The 29th “Young and Cinema” Debut Films Festival in Koszalin came to a close Saturday night.

“This is a special place for me to be receiving this award. I live not far from here; I am a Szczecin man by birth and by choice,” said the winner of the Wielki Jantar (Grand Amber) festival Grand Prize Krzysztof Łukaszewicz. “The film was a success, we hit the jackpot,” added producer Włodzimierz Niderhaus.

“I’m not really sure if this festival is for people my age,” joked Paweł Sala, winner of the Best Director award for his feature Matka Teresa od kotów (Mother Teresa of Cats). “It is a late debut, but it finally happened. The man who believed in me was Sławek Rogowski.”

“Better late than never, as they say. I never had the opportunity to pick up this award. Now I’ve been able to finally remedy that,” said Janusz Kondratiuk as he accepted an award he received 37 years ago (the Koszalin film festival had a ten-year break).
