Director Michał Marczak will be among the participants of the 2014 DOX:LAB production workshop in Copenhagen.

DOX:LAB

is an international programme created by the CPH:DOX International Documentary Film Festival to foster increased mobility and creative processes and developing the low-budget model of financing film production. Each year, 20 filmmakers are divided into pairs. Throughout the programme, they work on their joint projects, which are then presented at the next CPH:DOX festival in Denmark, marking their world premieres. The best among these projects then have an opportunity to screen at selected co-production markets: the Nordic Film Market of the Göteborg International Film Festival, the Paris Co-production Village, CineLink at the Sarajevo Film Festival, the Hong Kong Asian Film Financing Forum, and the Buenos Aires Lab.

Polish FIlmmakers at CPH:LAB

Michał Marczak is the director of the acclaimed documentary Fuck For Forest, which was awarded at the 28th Warsaw Film Festival and Koniec Rosji (At the Edge of Russia), which won the Magic Hour Award at the 2010 Planete Doc Review (currently known as Planete+Doc). Polish director Katarzyna Klimkiewicz participated in the 2012 edition of the CPH:LAB programme. Together with Dominga Sotomayor, Katarzyna Klimkiewicz directed the award-wining La Isla (The Island), a film inspired by Wisława Szymborska’s poem ‘The Traffic Accident.’

Films produced at CPH:LAB receive support from the Polish Film Institute, DFI Filmworkshop, the Swedish Film Institute, the Norwegian Film Institute, the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, the Lithuanian Film Centre, and the Irish Film Board.
