"My Father's Bike" Wins in America

The awards ceremony of the 24th Polish Film Festival in America was held in Chicago on Sunday, November 18.

Golden Teeth Award

The Golden Teeth award for the most interesting feature film at the festival went to Mój rower (My Father’s Bike) by Piotr Trzaskalski. The Golden Teeth award for the most interesting documentary film went to Argentyńska lekcja (Argentinian Lesson) by Wojciech Staroń.

Special Awards

The Special Jury Prize for Outstanding Artistic Values went to the feature film Obława (Manhunt), directed by Marcin Krzyształowicz. The Special Jury Prize for Outstanding Artistic Values in the documentary category went to Wirtualna wojna (Man at War) by Jacek Bławut. The Polish Film Festival in America President’s Award for Particularly Universal Values went to 80 milionów (80 Million) by Waldemar Krzystek. The PFFA President’s Award for Particularly Universal Values in the documentary category went to Maria Zmarz-Koczanowicz for her documentary Wiera Gran (Vera Gran).

Emerging Artists

The “Discovering Eye” Emerging Artist Award for the Most Promising Director of a Feature Film went to Barbara Białowąs for her film Big Love. The same award in the documentary category went to Jakub Polakowski for his film Człowiek z reklamówką (Man with a Plastic Bag) and Kuba Maciejko for Bon Appetit.

 

The “StarTech Glass” Audience Award for the Most Popular Film went to Listy do M. (Letters to Santa), directed by Mitja Okorn.

 

The Chicago Film Critics Award went to Yuma by Piotr Mularuk.

 

The 24th Polish Film Festival in America was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
