New film by Piotr Domalewski at the festival in San Sebastian

„I never cry”, the newest and second feature-length film by Piotr Domalewski, will take part in this year’s 68th San Sebastian International Film Festival. It will be shown in the Kutxabank-New Directors Award section. The film received a grant from the Polish Film Institute.

The Spanish festival will be held on September 18-26. „I never cry” is included in section which presents debuts and second feature-length films by distinguished  artists. Its premiere is scheduled for September 25. Previously, it was shown as part of the Marche du Film in Cannes, as well as in the Works in Progress program in Karlovy Vary.

Polish-Irish co-production

Domalewski’s film is a Polish-Irish co-production. This is the second full-length project in his career after „Silent Night”, which brought him the main prize at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, as well as the Polish Film Awards: Eagles.

Seventeen-year-old Ola from a small city sets off on her own to an unknown country. It will be a journey of a lifetime, a journey into the unknown, during which she wants to renew her relationship with her long-unseen father. In Ireland, she will get to know a different world and people who will change her approach to life. The cast of the film includes Zofia Stafiej, Kinga Preis and Arkadiusz Jakubik. The Polish producer is Akson Studio. The author of the photos, as in „Silent Night”, is Piotr Sobociński jr.
