"Loving Vincent" Nominated for European Film Award





On October 24, 2017 European Film Academy announced nominees for the European Film Award in Animated Feature Film category. One of nominated films is Twój Vincent (Loving Vincent) by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

The nominations for the category Animated Feature Film were determined by a committee comprised of EFA Board Deputy Chairman Antonio Saura (Spain), EFA Board Member Ira von Gienanth (Germany), EFA Member Anja Šošić (Poland), as well as CARTOON representatives Christian Davin (France), Moe Honan (Ireland) and Alessandro Rak (Italy).

Twój Vincent (Loving Vincent) is the world’s first painted feature film, made by Polish director and painter Dorota Kobiela and by Hugh Welchman (winner of the Academy Award for Peter & the Wolf).

The film is produced by Oscar-winning Breakthru Films and Trademark Films. Partners on the project include CETA, Odra Film, Silver Reel, Cinema and Management Group, European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016, and MEDIA. The film is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

The European Animated Feature Film 2017 winner will be presented at the 30th European Film Awards Ceremony on Saturday, 9 December, in Berlin.
