MAŁGORZATA SZUMOWSKA INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN PRESTIGIOUS "TOGETHER NOW" PROJECT

Małgorzata Szumowska has been invited to participate in the prestigious Together Now film project, made by female film directors and actresses from around the world.

Polish Film Director Invited to Participate in Prestigious International Film Project

Małgorzata Szumowska is the only Polish filmmaker to participate in Together Now, the first film project from We Do It Together, a non-profit organisation dedicated to financing and producing female-driven films. Together Now will be a feature comprised of seven short films.

Other directors who have come on board include Robin Wright, Catherine Hardwicke, Katia Lund (All the Invisible Children), Patricia Riggen (The 33), Haifaa Al Mansour (Wadjda) and Melina Matsoukas (Beyonce’s Formation). Among the actresses appearing on-screen are Freida Pinto and Juliette Binoche. The film will be produced by Carol Polakoff, Shelby Stone and Chiara Tilesi.

Małgorzata Szumowska has written and directed award-winning feature and documentary films, including Body/Ciało (Body; Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin IFF), W imię… (In the Name Of…; Teddy Award at the Berlin IFF), Sponsoring (Elles), and 33 sceny z życia (33 Scenes from Life; Special Jury Prize at the Locarno IFF). Szumowska has also been nominated for the European Film Award for Best European Director for her work on Body/Ciało (Body).
