10th FILMPOLSKA FESTIVAL IN BERLIN

The tenth edition of the filmPOLSKA festival will run in Berlin from April 22 through April 29, 2015.

New Polish Cinema

The festival lineup features a number of recent Polish films, including BODY/CIAŁO by Małgorzata Szumowska, recently awarded at Berlinale, as well as Hardkor Disko (Hardcore Disco) by Krzysztof Skonieczny, Małe stłuczki (Little Crushes) by Aleksandra Gowin and Ireneusz Grzyb, Wałęsa. Człowiek z nadziei (Wałęsa. Man of Hope) by Andrzej Wajda, Miasto 44 (Warsaw 44) by Jan Komasa, and Powstanie warszawskie (The Warsaw Uprising), the world’s first feature film consisting entirely of documentary footage.

Agnieszka Holland Retrospective

Festival audiences will have an opportunity to see a retrospective of films by director Agnieszka Holland. The festival will screen Olivier, Olivier, The Secret Garden, Total Eclipse, Kobieta samotna (A Woman Alone), W ciemności (In Darkness), and Burning Bush. The lineup also features Powroty Agnieszki H. (The Returns of Agnieszka H.), a documentary film about Holland, directed by Jacek Petrycki and Krystyna Krauze.

Cinema Education

The festival lineup also features a section called ‘Kinoedukacja,’ which will showcase a number of Polish productions, including Made in Poland by Przemysław Wojcieszek, Dzień świra (The Day of the Wacko) by Marek Koterski, and Zawrócony (The Convert) by Kazimierz Kutz.
