The lineup of the Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival, one of the world's leading events for short film, has been announced. Kawałek lata (A Piece of Summer) by Marta Minorowicz, produced by the Polish Filmmakers Association Munk Studio within the "First Documentary" framework, will screen in the festival's Main Competition.
A Piece of Summer is a record of a grandson's holiday at his grandfather's house in the Bieszczady mountains. Surrounded by wild forests, the two can rely only on themselves as they try to rebuilt their family bond. The camera follows the characters and their relationship, set against the background of picturesque and austere wildlife.
Competition screenings are not the only opportunity for presenting Polish films at Clermont-Ferrand. Every year, the Clermont-Ferrand film market features a stand that promotes the latest Polish short feature productions.
The 33rd Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival will run from January 4 to January 12, 2011.
