"Argentinian Lesson" Wins in Canada

The documentary Argentyńska lekcja (Argentinian Lesson) by Wojciech Staroń, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received the grand prize in the Mid-Length Documentary Competition at the RIDM (Rencontres Internationales du Documentaire de Montréal) film festival.

Argentyńska lekcja (Argentinian Lesson)

Argentyńska lekcja (Argentinian Lesson), produced by Staroń Film and the Documentary Department of TVP1, is focused on Janek, the director’s eight-year-old son, who moves with his parents to Argentina for two years. In a foreign country, in a foreign culture, immersed in a language which he had never heard before, the boy slowly discover the world around him. He becomes friends with eleven-year-old Marcia, which brings him closer to the new culture, but also takes him into a completely new social reality, where children often have to face difficult problems as much as adults.
