Bartosz Bielenia awarded at the Palm Springs IFF

Two awards went to the film “Corpus Christi” by Jan Komasa at the 31st International Film Festival in Palm Springs.

Bartosz Bielenia received the FIPRESCI Prize for the Best Actor in an International Feature Film, and the youth jury awarded the film “Corpus Christi” with Young Cineastes Award.

This is another time when Polish artists have been recognized at this prestigious festival. Last year, Joanna Kulig received the Palm Springs award for her role in “Cold War” by Paweł Pawlikowski.

The American festival was held from 3-12 January, which is just before the announcement of an Oscar nomination. The Palm Springs Festival invariably presents the largest selection of films nominated for the American Film Academy Awards. This year, the program included 51 Oscar candidates in the best international feature film category.

The promotional campaign of the film “Corpus Christi” is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
