"BODY/CIAŁO" RECOGNIZED IN DORTMUND

BODY/CIAŁO, a film directed by Małgorzata Szumowska and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute received special mention of the jury at Dortmund’s International Women’s Film Festival, which closed on April 19, 2015.

Another Award for Małgorzata Szumowska’s Latest Feature

This special mention for BODY/CIAŁO is not the first award received by Małgorzata Szumowska at the Dortmund event. In 2013, Szumowska won the festival’s Grand Prize for her feature W imię… (In the Name Of…).

The Dortmund award also marks yet another form of recognition for this particular film; earlier this year, BODY/CIAŁO was awarded the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin International Film Festival. Janusz Gajos was also voted Best Actor at the Kino Pasavaris IFF in Vilnius.

The International Women’s Film Festival

The International Women’s Film Festival in Dortmund is the only event of its kind in the world. Each year, the festival screens approximately 80 films, recent and older productions, all directed by women.
