EFP Future Frames 2018





EFP FUTURE FRAMES at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival 2018.

For the fourth year running European Film Promotion (EFP) and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) present ten of the most promising new European directors and their films in the framework of EFP FUTURE FRAMES during KVIFF from July 1 – 4. The programme is supported by the Creative Europe – MEDIA Programme of the European Union and the respective EFP member organisations.

Participants

Poland is represented by Jakub Radej. Other participants are: Judita Gramulin (Croatia) Dawid Ullgren (Sweden) Hleb Papou (Italy), Lora Mure-Ravaud (Switzerland), David Pinheiro Vicente (Portugal) front left to right: Stijn Bouma (The Netherlands), David Gurgulia (Georgia), Neven Samardzic (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Michal Duris (Slovak Republic).

Jakub Radej

Jakub Radej studied at Krzysztof Kieślowski Faculty of Radio and Television University of Silesia  He was also a participant of the documentary program DOK.Pro at Wajda School. He is a director and scriptwriter of short feature and documentary films and music videos. His short documentary film Proch (Dust) won over 15 awards worldwide, including Best Documentary Film Award in LAB Competition at 40th Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival.

Sweet Home Czyżewo

Young entrepeneur Marcin returns to his Polish hometown to use his US experience to start an American Diner and most of all to win back his great love Krysia – but things turn out quite differently.

Sweet Home Czyżewo is written and directed by Jakub Radej who is also a co-editor of the film. The film is lensed by Józefina Gocman. Cast: Adam Bobik, Angelika Kurowska.

FUTURE FRAMES: European Film Promotion’s initiative

The fourth edition of FUTURE FRAMES is taking place at the 53rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. This initiative of the festival and EFP is aimed at drawing attention of the film industry and film critics to young filmmakers. The selection of films were made by Karel Och, the Artistic Director of the Festival and Anna Purkrabkova, the Programme Coordinator. At the event, ten young directors will present their achievements, meet with the audience, and participate in a number of industry events.

Part of the intensive EFP programme introducing emerging young professionals to the film industry and media and presenting their work to the festival audience is also an exclusive master class by Bosnian auteur Jasmila Zbanic, who will share her experiences in independent filmmaking with the directors.
