FIPRESCI Special Award for Andrzej Wajda

On March 25, Andrzej Wajda received the FIPRESCI 90 Platinum Award at the Bari International Film Festival.

Andrzej Wajda received the FIPRESCI 90 Platinum Award at the Bari International Film Festival. The award was presented to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the launch of FIPRESCI — the International Federation of Film Critics.

A Screening of Katyn

Wajda’s visit at the Bari IFF was accompanied by a special screening of Katyn, followed by a Q&A with the director, moderated by Grażyna Torbicka. Throughout his career, Andrzej Wajda has received a total of three FIPRESCI awards: in 1959 at the Venice IFF for his film Popiół i diament (Diamonds and Ashes), in 1970 at Mifed for Brzezina (Birch Wood), and in 1978 at the Cannes IFF for Człowiek z marmuru (Man of Marble).

The FIPRESCI 90 Platinum Award was also presented to Ettore Scola, Jean Jacques Annaud, Alan Parker, and Costa-Gavras, among others.
