French-Belgian film wins Animated Film Festival ReAnimacja in Łódź

The French-Belgian film Malban directed by Elodie Bouedec won the Grand Prix at the fourth edition of the Animated Film Festival in Łódź.

 

During the three-day festival which concluded on 26 April, 52 animated films from around the world were shown at competition reviews and retrospectives. For the first time in Poland, viewers were treated to La nostalgia del Sr. Alambre, an independent Mexican production for which the dolls were made in Se-Ma-For in Łódź.

Among other winners, the jury honoured such films as She Who Measures by Delijko Popovic (Croatia) and Chicken Stew by Joana Toste (Portugal).

Awards for the best Polish films were given by a jury of the Polish Filmmakers Association. The winner was Balbina Bruszewska for the film City Sails On (Miasto płynie). Honours also went to Szymon Łukasik for Mr. F and Paweł Prewencki for Bird’s Song. The Audience Award went to Signalis by Adrian Flückinger.
