"Gabriel" at International Film Festivals

Gabriel, a film directed by Mikołaj Haremski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, has been selected for screening at four film festivals abroad.

The United States, Sweden and Berlinale

Gabriel by Mikołaj Haremski will screen at the 9th.Children’s Film Festival in Seattle (January 23 to February 8). The film will also screen at the 5th Providence Children’s Film Festival (February 13-23), the Green Bay Film Festival (February 21-23) and at the Stockholm International Film Festival Junior (April 7-12). In February, the film will also be shown at the European Film Market during this year’s Berlin IFF.

Gabriel

Twelve-year-old Tomek decides to leave the home of his grandparents and set off on an adventure in search of his father. He quickly gets into trouble, but a mysterious new friend named Gabriel shows up to help him out of his predicament. Despite their early misunderstandings, the boys become good friends. Together they face the various events happening throughout their journey. Tomek is closer and closer to meeting his father, and to discovering Gabriel’s secret.

A Film Supported by the Polish Film Institute

Gabriel is a Polish children’s film directed by Mikołaj Haremski, starring Jan Rotowski, Natan Czyżewski, Zbigniew Zamachowski, Krzysztof Globisz, and Paweł Królikowski. The film was produced by Anima-Pol. Gabriel was made in co-production with Centrum Technologii Audiowizualnych and is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and the Regional Tourist Office of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release in Poland this spring.

Awards at International Festivals

Gabriel received a total of four awards at the Cinerockom film festival in Malibu, winning Best Photography, Best Original Score, Best Young Actor, and Best Feature. The film also won the Special Jury Prize at the Schlingel Film Festival.
