Gajos Wins Best Actor Award

Janusz Gajos received the award for Best Actor at the 20th Kino Pavasaris IFF in Vilnius for his performance in BODY/CIAŁO, a film directed by Małgorzata Szumowska and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Gajos – the Best Actor

Małgorzata Szumowska’s latest feature BODY/CIAŁO screened in the festival’s ‘Baltic Gaze’ Main Competition. The award for Best Actor in this section went to Janusz Gajos for his performance as a prosecutor. The award for Best Film went to Victoria, a film by Sebastian Schipper.

The award in Vilnius marks more recognition for BODY/CIAŁO. Earlier this year, Małgorzata Szumowska received the Silver Bear Award at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival.

Special Mention for Obiekt (Object)

Special mention of the jury went to Obiekt (Object), a film directed by Paulina Skibińska. Obiekt (Object) has previously been awarded at the Sundance Film Festival. In Vilnius, the film screened in the festival’s short film competition. Co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, the film was produced by the Polish Filmmakers Association’s Munk Studio within the framework of the ‘First Documentary’ programme.

Polish Winners in Vilnius
