Ińsko Film Summer - new films by Herzog, Zelenka, Zanussi

The Ińsko Film Summer Festival was inaugurated with a screening of a amazing Czech film Some Secrets (Výlet), which was the biggest film event in Czech Republic of the last year and received the biggest awards of Czech Film Academy.

 

During the festival, 100 films from several countries will be shown, including the pre-premiere screenings of: The Karamazov Brothers (Karmazovi) by Petr Zelenka, Black Sun (Il sole nero) by Krzysztof Zanussi, 0_1_0 by Piotr Łazarkiewicz, The Island (Ostrov) Pavel Lungin, and Encounters at the End of the World by Werner Herzog.

The accompanying events include concerts by Lao Che and Dubska & Gera Morales, the spectacle Nauka latania by The Zone of Silence Theatre, and meetings with travelers organised in cooperation with Gryfiński Festiwal Miejsc i Podróży – Włóczykij.

The festival organisers are the Ińsko Film Summer Association, Town and Commune Council Ińsko, and Stopklatka.pl.

The festival, which has been running since 1973, is one of the oldest film events in Poland. It mainly promotes independent films from Central and Eastern Europe. This ear’s edition will last until 10 August.
