A Spy Movie Based on a True Story

Jack Strong is a spy movie based on a true story. Colonel Ryszard Kukliński, a high-ranking officer in the Polish army, privy to the most classified operations of the Warsaw Pact, decides to become a CIA asset, thus turning into a crucial (albeit invisible) actor of the Cold War. From 1971 to 1981, Kukliński provided the West with over 40,000 pages of classified documents, including plans for introducing martial law in Poland. The screenplay was written based on never-before-seen documents from the archives of the Institute of National Remembrance, CIA documents, and interviews with witnesses, including David Forden, Kukliński’s CIA handler.
