"Lasting" at Sundance

Nieulotne (Lasting), directed by Jacek Borcuch and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, will screen in the World Dramatic Competition at the Sundance International Film Festival, which runs from January 17 through January 27, 2013.

World Premiere at Sundance

Jacek Borcuch’s latest feature Nieulotne (Lasting) will screen in the World Dramatic Competition of the Sundance film festival, competing for the festival awards against 11 other films from around the world. The film’s Sundance screening will mark its world premiere.

Second Film by Jacek Borcuch in World Dramatic Competition

Nieulotne (Lasting) is the second film by Jacek Borcuch and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute to screen in the World Dramatic Competition at Sundance. In 2010, Sundance audiences had the opportunity to see Borcuch’s previous feature Wszystko, co kocham (All That I Love).

Nieulotne (Lasting)

Lasting is an emotional love story about Michał and Karina, a pair of Polish students who meet and fall in love with each other while working summer jobs in Spain. An unexpected nightmare brutally breaks into their carefree time in the heavenly landscape and throws their lives into chaos.

Starring Gierszał and Berus

The film was written by Jacek Borcuch and lensed by Michał Englert. The original score was composed by Daniel Bloom. The lead parts were played by Jakub Gierszał and Magdalena Berus, with supporting roles by Andrzej Chyra, Joanna Kulig, Ángela Molina, and Juanjo Ballesta.

Film Supported by the Polish Film Institute

Nieulotne (Lasting) is a co-production between Poland and Spain. The film was produced by Mañana, co-produced by the Krakow Festival Office and Espiral Producciones S.A., and co-financed by the Krakow Regional Film Fund, the City of Kwidzyn, and the Polish Film Institute. The film’s Polish distributor is Kino Świat, while world sales are handled by AP Mañana. Nieulotne (Lasting) is set for release in Polish theatres on February 8, 2013.

Sundance IFF

The Sundance festival is one of the world’s top events for independent cinema. Created by Robert Redford, the event takes place annually since 1981 in Utah, USA. The Sundance Film Institute supports independent cinema by granting scholarships to film directors, screenwriters and producers, as well as by co-financing film production.
