Łukasz Długołęcki received the Emerging Producer title, which is awarded at the International Documentary Film Festival in Jihlava, Czech Republic.
Emerging Producers is the flagship program of the International Documentary Film Festival in Jihlava and the only distinction of its kind for young documentary film producers, mainly from Europe. The program takes place for the eighth time.
Emerging Producers is a promotion and education program. Each year, the festival organizers select 18 talented producers (17 from Europe and 1 representing the guest country of the festival - this year it is Taiwan), who provide educational support, contacts and promotion. The main goal of the program is to help in establishing contacts with producers from other countries, thus increasing the potential of future European co-productions.
The main part of the project takes place in Jihlava during the International Documentary Film Festival at the end of October. Other activities and promotion of Emerging Producers will take place during major film events throughout the year.
After six editions, the Emerging Producers program has 129 professionally prepared project graduates, many of whom already have a rich production output and awards at major film festivals around the world.
Łukasz Długołęcki was born in Łódź in 1989. At PWSFTviT, he produced and co-produced a dozen or so student films, both feature and documentary. He made his first short film in 2011. He is the founder of NUR. In 2018, he produced the documentary "In Touch", shown at international festivals around the world, awarded at IDFA in the Netherlands or Skjaldborg in Iceland.
