Maciej Zieliński received the best music award for the film "Alaska Is a Drag" during the NewFilmmakers awards gala in Los Angeles.
The purpose of the NewFilmmakers event in Los Angeles is to honor talented independent filmmakers from around the world. The prizes are awarded in 16 categories. The Polish composer won in the Best Music category. The film "Alaska Is a Drag" also received the award for the best film. It is worth recalling that in 2015 the project of the film "Alaska Is a Drag", which was then in the last stages of post-production, was appreciated during the 5th edition of the industry co-production meetings of US in Progress at the American Film Festival in Wrocław. The prize was , inter alia, composing music by Maciej Zieliński at the Soundflower Studio in Warsaw.
This is not the end of Maciej Zieliński's international successes. Soon, at the Tribeca festival in New York, the film "Initials SG" with the music of the Polish composer will be shown in the main competition (US Narrative Competition). The picture is a Lebanese-American-Argentine co-production.
Maciej Zieliński is a Polish composer, author of music for many popular Polish films and series (including "Nigdy w życiu", "Kryminalni"). In 2016 and 2017, the composer received nominations for the Polish Film Award "Eagles" in the category "Best Music" for music for films "Photographer" dir. Waldemar Krzystek and "Humble Servants" dir. Mariusz Gawrys. In 2017, the premiere of the American thriller "Desolation" took place. During the recording of music for the film, Maciej Zieliński used the sound of an exceptional instrument called Yaybahar to give the right atmosphere.
