Małgorzata Staroń – Producer On The Move 2019





Polish producer Małgorzata Staroń is one of this year’s participants of the prestigious “Producers on the Move” programme, taking place at the 72nd Cannes International Film Festival.

20th Edition of “Producers on the Move”

The 20th edition of the ‘Producers on the Move’ programme, organised in Cannes by European Film Promotion, will be attended by 20 young producers from across Europe. Participation in the programme is aimed at developing a network of industry professionals who will play an increasingly significant role in European cinema. The Polish representative at the 2019 edition of “Producers on the Move” is Małgorzata Staroń.

Małgorzata Staroń

Małgorzata Staroń is the head of the Warsaw-based production company Staron-Film which she co-founded with her DoP husband Wojciech Staroń in 2005. She produced two of his documentaries – “Argentinian Lesson” and “Brothers” – as well as co-producing two films by Diego Lerman – “Refugiado” and “Sort of Family” – and Paula Markovitch’s Silver Bear-winner The Prize. Małgorzata is now working on the development of Wojciech’s next project, “I See”.

Polish ‘Producers on the Move’ participating in past editions of the programme include Maria Blicharska (2017), Klaudia Śmieja (2016), Mariusz Włodarski (2015), Mikołaj Pokromski (2014), Agnieszka Kurzydło (2013), Marta Plucińska (2012), Łukasz Dzięcioł (2011), and Kamila Polit (2010).
