Wartime Thriller Supported by Polish Film Institute

Obława (Manhunt) is a wartime thriller, in which Marcin Dorociński plays the part of a resistance soldier and executioner, facing the Nazis, traitors, and – what is most difficult – his own dark past. The film is inspired by the wartime stories of Adam Krzyształowicz, father of the director and corporal of the Homeland Army during the Second World War. The lead parts were played by Marcin Dorociński, Maciej Stuhr, and Sonia Bohosiewicz. Supporting roles were played by Weronika Rosati, Andrzej Zieliński, Alan Andersz and Sebastian Stegmann. The film was lensed by Arkadiusz Tomiak, while Grzegorz Skawiński was responsible for production design. Obława (Manhunt) was produced by Skorpion Arte., and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Gdynia and Montreal

The Polish premiere of Manhunt took place at the 37th Gdynia Film Festival, where it screened as one of twelve films in Main Competition, winning the Silver Lions Award, the Award of the Art-House Cinema Network, and the Best Editing award for Adam Kwiatek and Wojciech Mrówczyński. The film’s international premiere took place at the 36th Montreal International Film Festival, where it screened in Main Competition. Obława (Manhunt) was released in theatres across Poland on October 19, 2012. The film’s Polish distributor is Kino Świat.
