Nomination for "Argentinian Lesson"

On November 2, the nominations for the prestigious Cinema Eye Honors awards for documentary filmmakers were announced in Los Angeles. One of the key nominated titles is Argentyńska lekcja (Argentinian Lesson) by Wojciech Staroń. The film was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

The Spotlight Award

Argentyńska lekcja (Argentinian Lesson) is one of five films nominated for the Spotlight Award. This category of the Cinema Eye Honors is reserved for “films that haven’t yet received the attention they deserve”. Staroń’s Argentinian Lesson will compete for the Spotlight Award against Vol Special by Fernand Melgar, Meanwhile in Mamelodi by Benjamin Kahlmeyer, Downeast by David Redmon and Ashley Sabin, and Bestiaire by Denis Côté.

Industry Awards

The Cinema Eye Honors have been presented annually since 2008 in eleven categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Photography, Best Editing, Best Production, Best Debut Feature Film, and Best Original Score. The selection committee for nominating films for the Cinema Eye Honors includes artistic directors and programmers from the world’s top film festivals.
