Polish Film Review in China

A screening of The Pianist (Pianista) by Roman Polański opened the Polish Film Review that took place in Beijing and Kunming.

The programme includes Tricks (Sztuczki) by Andrzej Jakimowski, Persona non grata by Krzysztof Zanussi, All Will Be Well (Wszystko będzie dobrze) by Tomasz Wiszniewski, and Saviour Square (Plac Zbawiciela) by Joanna and Krzysztof Krauze. Interest in the project is so great that there are no empty seats in the theatres.

The review is accompanied by an exhibition by Ryszard Horowitz and workshops about directing. Over 1,500 students and graduates from the Film Academy in Beijing took part in three-hour classes led by Roman Polański and Jacek Bromski

The review closes on 2 November. The organiser is the Polish Filmmakers Association and the co-organisers are the China Film Archive and the Polish Film Institute.
